FJMC Co-operators Awards
The FJMC Co-operators Awards were initiated in 1999 to recognize individuals or agencies that have made a significant contribution to the co-operative management of fisheries of the Arctic, in particular the fisheries of the Inuvialuit Settlement Region. The FJMC has three types of awards for co-management:
- Instantaneous Award
- Certificate of Commendation
- Annual FJMC Co-Operative Management Award
The FJMC Co-operative Management Award is the highest recognition that the FJMC can give to its partners and co-operators in recognition of significant contributions to our co-management efforts, and is presented annually in recognition of a significant contribution through a single event or for long-term contributions for:
- scientific or operational work of a high level of importance or excellence;
- outstanding service or action that results in important improvements in cooperation between agencies operating wholly within the ISR or between the FJMC and agencies outside the ISR;
- significant social or community service related to co-management of fisheries in the ISR; and
- outstanding service or action that brings credit to the concept of co-operative resource management.
